Who is eligible for Meals on Wheels?

Indepenent seniors can receive hot nutricious lunches through congregate dining at four locations throughout Montgomery County: The Woodlands, Magnolia, Willis, and New Caney.


To be eligible for our home-delivered meal program, clients must meet the following criteria:

• Live in Montgomery County

• Be 60 years of age or older

• Be homebound, meaning they have difficulty leaving home without assistance

• Be unable to drive

• Have physical or mental limitations that make it difficult to prepare meals

• Be able to receive meals during the assigned delivery timeframe

How do I sign up for Meals on Wheels?

You, a family member, or a professional caregiver can call (936) 271-2183. Please have the following information ready:

• Today’s date

• The potential client’s full name

• Date of birth

• Zip code

• Contact phone number

Does Meals on Wheels provide transportation?

Yes, Meals on Wheels provides transportation depending on the needs of the client. Our transportation program offers curb-to-curb rides to essential appointments throughout the Montgomery County area. This service is provided for disabled seniors and veterans over 60 years old. All of our buses are ADA compliant.

Is Meals on Wheels a government service?

No, Meals on Wheels is an independent community based non-profit with an active involvement from volunteers and oversight by volunteer community board members. The cost of meals is covered by both government and private grants, as well as corporate, business, and private donations. View our financial statements for more information.
