TITLE VI COMPLIANCE
Meals on Wheels Montgomery County strictly enforces Title VI and is committed to practicing non-discrimination. If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination you may file a complaint by downloading the form below or call (936) 756-5828.
Meals on Wheels Montgomery County will process and investigate disability complaints alleging discrimination in the bus service or ADA Paratransit service under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Disability complaints alleging discrimination in programs, services or activities may be filed pursuant to the following procedures.
How to File a Complaint
Any person who believe that he or she has been discriminated against on the bases of disability by Meals on Wheels Montgomery County may file an ADA complaint. Meals on Wheels Montgomery County will investigate complaints received no more than 180 days after the alleged incident. The complainant should complete the form link above and file it with:

Complaint Acceptance
One the complaint is received, Meals on Wheels Montgomery County will review it to determine whether the complaint meets the jurisdiction or requirements. The complainant will receive any notification if the complaint is missing information.
Investigations
Meals on Wheels Montgomery County will promptly investigate all complaints of alleged discrimination on the basis of disability in its services and programs. Meals on Wheels Montgomery County will process and investigate alleged complaints within 40 days of receiving a complete complaint. Meals on Wheels Montgomery County may contact the Complainant if more information is needed to resolve the complaint. Meals on Wheels Montgomery County may choose to close the complaint if the requested information is not received in a timely fashion. A complaint can also be administratively closed if the Complainant no longer wishes to pursue the complaint, or if the complainant fails to cooperate in the investigation of the complaint.
Notification of Findings
After the investigation is completed, Meals on Wheels Montgomery County will make a final decision and will notify all associated parties of its preliminary findings in a written decision letter.
Right to Appeal
A complainant may appeal a final decision resulting from an ADA investigation by submitting a written appeal to Meals on Wheels Montgomery County no later than ten (10) business days after receipt of the final decision letter. The appeal letter must be sent to:

The procedures do not deny the right of the complainant to file formal complaints with other state or federal agencies or to seek private counsel for complaints alleging discrimination. Meals on Wheels Montgomery County has authority for accepting complaints for investigation, but complainants may also file complaints with TxDOT or the Federal Transit Administration within 180 days of the alleged offense. If you would like to file with TxDOT, please send a written complaint to TxDOT Public Transportation, 3712 Jackson Avenue, Building 6, 5th floor, Austin, Texas 78731. If you would like to file with FTA, please send a written complaint to FTA Region VI, 819 Taylor Street, Room 8A36, Fort Worth, TX 76102.

Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (Senior Rides) hereby gives public notice that it is the organizations policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Title VI requires that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

A complainant may also file a complaint directly with the FTA by filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights, Attention: Title VI Program Coordinator, East Building, 5th Floor-TCR, 1200 New Jersey Ave., SE, Washington, DC 20590.
